Richard Capener

"Tall, red-haired, and sporting a long beard twined into a plait, Richard Capener cuts a striking figure,
and for guitar aficionados his playing will be just as impactful. Playing with a combination of strumming,
finger-style and tapping, peppered with harmonics and other tricks, Capener certainly has the skills,
but manages to provide a performance with more than just technical merit.
Exploring the river from source to sea through his swirling, lyrical and often playful guitar,
Capener genuinely captures the feeling of a summer afternoon with water trickling by.
Excellent stuff" - Sam Wise, Acoustic Magazine, Feb 2010

Otter Madness by Richard Capener

Richard Capener had a career playing in rock bands, but when the arrival of children made it
impractical to have amps and leads around, the acoustic became Richard’s new best friend.

2009’s debut solo album River was the result of equal parts inspiration and perspiration,
with the theme proving both a discipline and a frustration. The album has been extremely well received however,
selling out the first pressing and receiving excellent reviews, which have in turn led to an uplift in live bookings.

Richard is now performing extensively whilst working on a live EP and a new album.
Whilst it is still theoretically possible to book him, prospective promoters
should move fast, while there’s still any space in the diary!
