Prote-J was born in Los Angeles, California but raised by his mother in Papua New Guinea (a country in Oceania, just north of Australia), before moving to Florida. After his mother showed him a Michael Jackson performance, Prote-J knew he wanted to be an entertainer. He began his musical career in the church band and wrote his first song at just 9 years old. When he arrived to the States and joined the middle school band's drum corp, he also began to hone his skills as an MC. As a high schooler, Prote-J battled, and beat, anyone and everyone before connecting with a local producer to make a mixtape together. Prote-J then went off to college in Daytona Beach and continued to make music. Now with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration under his belt, he's ready to focus on his love for music.
